Nearly all the good reviews refer to real individuals at the company. For example, Gaynor’s name popped up a couple of times. This points to a potential request from the individual workers at hand to give good reviews in order to boost them/the company.

The bad reviews are certainly not prolific but they are however very vocal. Chris seems to be the favourite employee on staff, lots of people have a good word to say.

It is difficult to decern what are the benefits and problems of Yu Energy, because both the complaints and the compliments are surrounding customer service. However, as there are a higher percentage of positive reviews, we can discern that Yu Energy has a good record with pleasing its customers.
FacebookGazproms facebook page seems to be mostly made up of informative articles that explain facts about natural gas production and there is a lean towards green energy information.Smartest facebook page seems to be involved in promoting its own products. These products seem like energy saving tech for individual domestic use. It does not seem the general public are engaging with this.On their facebook page, Yu Energy is promoting the fact that they are one of the fastest growing business energy suppliers in the UK. This seems to be an effort to combat the low engagement.

Apparently it is a company that offers a good work-life balance, however, it seems that lower level employees are not kept in the loop by management.

What is interesting is, the engagement on this page seems to be sharing of articles rather then any comments/complaints from customers. This suggests that employees are encouraged to share the work from their company online.The very low engagement on their facebook page suggests that there is no one specifically employed to respond and create content on Facebook or potentially on social media in general.There are a lot of articles and recent content being published on their facebook page. This suggests someone’s job is to create this, however they are not promoting this content to many people.

Excellent customer service.

Although changing my property from a commercial to a domestic supply has been a difficult and very stressful experience, the staff at Gazprom have been excellent, so understanding and helpful. Cannot fault their customer service, always available, kind and polite.

Got my business energy with them, my payments have gone to an old account number, have even explained what they need to do, given them both account numbers now they are still saying I haven’t paid and threatening to cut me off AND forwarded to a debt collection company!

By far the worst company I have ever…

By far the worst company I have ever had to deal with in any field. Constant over charging on estimated billing even when presented with correct meter readings. Tried to take over £5000 one month for our small workshop running minimal equipment, we had to cancel direct debit to stop this from happening. Customer services know of over charging by thousands of pounds but still to rectify despite admitting to seeing anomaly in billing. Office hours limited with no evening service so have to take time off from work to sort this ongoing debacle. Avoid at all costs.

Inconsistent approach to updating…

inconsistent approach to updating customers – 3 to 5 days became 5 to 7 days and then 7 – 10 days All for a refund.

The first lady was very helpful but the third gentleman, Martin said it was lack of training for the first lady – god knows about the second lady who said 5 t0 7 days was talking about as apparently its 7 to 10 days.

A bit of a riddle I know but so frustrating for a customer especially due to the current climate – a real lack of customer training springs to mind at smartest Energy Business. Pandemic or no pandemic, someone at this company must know its polices ???????

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have taken service 3yrs ago with DUAL ENERGY.
Now rebranded as Smartest energy. I am not happy about their service and I have given end of my contract termination notice before Oct 2020.
They are not happy to switch to another supplier. simply postponing it is too early after that told it is too late.

They never given any time frame to switch over.

Please don’t trust these people,
I am not recommend this supplier is giving good service for you.

I never come back whatever price they offering future.

BEWARE – Hidden clauses and dishonest.

We switched over to smartest energy for our Business electricity.
We were paying our bills on time and evrything was ok for the first 2 months.
We received a call from a company saying they were calling to make a booking so they could come and install a smart meter as we did not want one we politely refused and thought that was the end of it.

a week ago we received a email informing us that as we had declined to have the smart meter installed Smartest energy would be charging us an admin fee of £25 + vat every month until we do so.

When this was challenged they pointed us to 2 obscure clauses in the contract neither of which state that having a smart meter installed is mandatory .

Companies like this need to be avoided as they are underhand and conniving , we will be taking this up with the energy regulator.

The learning curve is steep since there is so much one can learn from day one. From trading to market analysis, being able to closely work with traders is a plus. Additionally, there is plenty of room to showcase quantitative skills as well as using various programming languages (e.g. VBA, SQL and Python).

Switched to Yu Energy from Haven Power…

Switched to Yu Energy from Haven Power for our business electricity supply , Initially tried to switch on a 3rd party recommendation site but it wouldn’t let us add our bank details so hunted them down directly. They answered the phone quickly which is a bonus in these Covid times and then Dean Harrison was super efficient in taking our information and quoting us.

All done and dusted and signed up within 5 minutes of a return call so if the power supply is as efficient as the customer service then i’ll be happy.

Very prompt reply from Customer services

Very prompt reply from Dean Harrison on the customer services team. We enquired at around 9am and had a quote by 4pm. Once agreed on the quote all the forms were sent and ready to switch by 5pm the same day. Our queries were answered very quickly and we will look forward to switching our business supply to them as I feel that they will solve issues quickly. The pricing is very reasonable and fixed (which suits our business), we have also made a saving which is great during these uncertain times!

Awful over priced service!!!!! ALERT

Over charge dont explain that you sign to a 3 year contract, my bill was overdue by 3 days due to current covid crisis and my business was affected paid my bill and the same day debt collecters visited my business demanding money, then received a call asking the same. Person on phone threatened to cut my power off in a very aggressive manner and didnt even do a date protection check. Awful company have been offered at half the price but Yuenergy will not let me buy out contract so im stuck for 3 years!!!! And bills have progressively got more expensive month on month. Do not use this company please wished I had never spoken to them.

Shocking service

Shocking service. I opened my business in September and went with Yu Energy. The meter is in a communal area that I do not have access to as it is another business in the building. I explained to Yu Energy who couldn’t provide smart meters. For 3 months in a row now the meter reading has been requested on a day that I cannot access the communal area (bank holiday, weekends and the fact the offices above are working from home). So Yu Energy have estimated my bill *their estimations have been 4 x times more that what I usually would pay*. Ring them up and they insist I pay the full amount, then they will re-do the bill and refund the difference. This is 3 months in a row now. Shocking service!

Unclear and unintelligible corporate strategy. Lack of strong leadership from the top. Overly political for a company of this size which is often destabilising and demotivating. Leadership vison is confused and lacking in conviction. Challenging IT infrastructure, architecture, compounded by poor decision making, waste and unnecessarily complex business processes. Insincere and disingenuous diversity efforts.

Advice to Management

Develop and articulate a clear and achievable corporate/business strategy that excites, engages and empowers employees at all levels. Address toxic culture and the drivers of it. If you are an IT career professional, you should probably avoid this company.

Yu Energy is a great place to work, the atmosphere is lively and the office is very modern. Yu energy has opened my mind to how large, advanced and forever changing the energy industry is. I’ve learned so much and and what I love about Yu Energy is that they want you to progress in the business, I myself have gone through role changes and I’ve seen so many others develop and grow into different departments in the business. You are truly valued as an employee. Working on the customer care team is fun and lively, the team is lovely and they are always willing to support you no matter where you are. There are many support channels even if that’s just a quick catch up with your manger. I’ve never seen any manager in any business take care of their team the way the customer service manager does. The customer care team truly are a family and I’m sure the same is translated in other departments. Yu energy is developing the same as the industry and it’s amazing that you are able to take part in the process changes, many businesses don’t include their base staff in processes development but Yu Energy care about who is actually completing the process and also allow us to help in its development.

Nice people trying to do their best. People really want to help.

A refreshing, diverse, happy, and welcoming environment. All departments meet regularly, communication clear and there’s always someone who has time for you. A truly wonderful place to work. The things that matter to most on top of all this? Regular pay reviews, flexible working (especially good during current pandemic) and modern offices all help keep morale high.

All businesses have negative aspects about them however what I could never fault Yu Energy for is looking into issues and helping staff to resolve them, you just have to be proactive and ask for help/guidance. For this reason I don’t have Cons to add to the company.

Limited knowledge about energy in my team. Rubbish systems. Pay not very good and a lot of the team kept leaving. People are scared to talk to management did a staff survey but no results came out.

Advice to Management

Invest and pay staff better.

This is rather specific and shouldn’t be held against Yu; but as an accountant moving from practice to be the accountant for an industry specific group, I didn’t know all the jargon, abbreviations etc which could be overwhelming for some. The induction was thorough but a list of energy specific key terms and a list of the teams who can discuss them in detail would’ve been handy from the start. Note – I was exposed to a lot of this at the start of the new role, some roles won’t be exposed to any!

Advice to Management

Continue to be approachable, to try be an equal and to offer transparency where possible.
